According to reports in Spain, Real Betis are ‘determined’ to sign Newcastle United top scorer Ayoze Perez following their successful season in La Liga.
This is not the first time Betis have been linked with a move for Ayoze and their chances of signing him may have increased, with them guaranteed to finish at least 6th – securing Europa League football for next season.
The story from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims it would be a ‘very expensive operation’ for the club, the Spaniard being just 24, under contract at NUFC until 2021 and ending the season on a high.
Some of his play has frustrated sections of St James’ Park over the last 12 months, but he showed us all just what he is capable of in the final few months of the season, scoring 6 in our last 8 – including a brace against Chelsea on the final day.
It would take a big bid, but with Benitez’s future up in the air and Perez admitting recently that he did not know what the future would hold for him this summer, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go if a huge offer arrived.
What do you think he’s worth in this day and age folks?
