According to Turkish outlet Fotospor, Newcastle have had a €15m bid accepted by Besiktas to sign recently linked midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup.
This must be taken with a pinch of salt until these claims are confirmed by sources slightly closer to the club, but this is certainly an exciting bit of news – if true.
The 25-year-old, formerly of Arsenal, had been set to leave the Turkish giants on a free this summer, however recently signed a new contract – a move that simply meant the club would at least receive a fee for him.
He can play as a central midfielder or number 10 and has 27 goals and 50 assists in just over 200 games for Besiktas – also having captained them for the majority of the 2017/18 season.

It’s believed that Palace and Everton also held an interest in signing the Turkish international this summer, so this could be a decent coup for the club if we were to pull this one off.
Based on the clips below, he could give us that flair and creativity we’ve been missing.
Heard he had 10.5 mill release clause so why pay €15.
