According to reports from the Middle-East, Islam Slimani could be set to sign for Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal – a bizarre move that would see him reunited with the manager he played under during his successful spell with Sporting Lisbon.
After struggling to make any real impact in England since his £30m arrival three years ago, Leicester look all set to cash in and it’s been claimed that Saudi Champions Al-Hilal will push to sign the Algerian once they appoint Jorge Jesus – the manager Slimani scored goals for fun under during their time together in Portugal.
With Slimani having scored 57 goals in 109 games for Sporting Lisbon, it’s easy to see why Jorge Jesus will be keen to be reunited with the 30-year-old – but you’d have to really question the strikers priorities if he did go through with it.
Fenerbahce and Sporting Lisbon have also been linked with moves to sign him this summer, with Newcastle clearly looking elsewhere after he completely failed to impress during his brief spell on Tyneside last season.
