Newcastle are one of several Premier League clubs interested in signing West Ham’s Michail Antonio according to an exclusive from TEAMtalk – who claim that the winger has been told he is not in Manuel Pellegrini’s long-term plans at the London Stadium.
He played just 22 games last season, with calf and hamstring injuries proving a problem, however he has netted a respectable 20 goals and 11 assists in 90 games for the Hammers.
The story claims Crystal Palace are now in talks to sign him, but state that Newcastle, Wolves and Bournemouth are also showing interest.
With recent injury issues and age (28) in mind, some may prefer to see us look elsewhere, but I think he’s a player who could fit quite nicely into Rafa Benitez’s high energy, counter attacking NUFC. His pace, power and eye for a goal could be pretty useful.
Thoughts?
That’s as well be, but it’s a shame then that they can’t afford him!???
