Journalist confirms NUFC’s interest in 6ft 5′ giant available for £8m – Player ‘keen’ on PL move

According to Ligue 1 journalist Manu Lonjon, Newcastle are interested in signing Toulouse centre-back Christopher Jullien – however we look set to face competition from Southampton for the giant Frenchman.

The 6ft 5′ defender had been linked with a move to Ajax, however it’s been reported in France that the he is now ‘desperate’ to secure a move to the Premier League this summer – something that looks very likely given his alleged asking price of just £8m.

The former French youth international is highly-rated in France and has previously been linked with the likes of Burnley and Palace, however French football reporter Manu Lonjon claims that both Newcastle and Southampton are now battling it out for his signature:

Time will tell if we’re actually serious about this one, but with Mbemba all set to join Port you’d think Benitez is on the look out for a new centre-back.

    Just like Van Dijk potentially. We both knew he was a snip from Celtic but only one club showed any real intent to go out and get him.
