Stoke City star ‘wants move to Newcastle’ – Player ‘in talks’ to make it happen – Report

According to Turkish Football, Senegal international Badou Ndiaye is keen to secure a move to Newcastle United this summer – with reports in Turkey claiming that we’ve submitted an offer that appeals to the Stoke City midfielder.

Ndiaye arrived at Stoke in January after making a £14m move from Galatasaray. He was unable to keep them up, however he was one of their top performers over the second half of the season and looked at home in the Premier League.

In a way, news of our interest should come as no surprise, with Sky Sports linking us with a move for the 27-year-old over the last two transfer windows, so it’s very interesting to hear that he now ‘wants a move’ to Newcastle.

Here’s a snippet from Turkish Football’s latest piece today, claiming we’ve made an offer – however it sounds like it has

“Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye wants to move to Newcastle United over the summer according to reports in Turkey.

“The Fotomac report that the Magpies have made an offer for Ndiaye.

“Per the source, the Senegal international is keen on the terms that have been put forward.

“Newcastle have however, been unable to agree terms with Stoke City.

“Talks are reportedly ongoing but Galatasaray want to hijack the move.

“The Lions are of the view that they will be able to snap up Ndiaye if talks with Newcastle break down.”

With Merino said to be in ‘advanced talks’ over a move to Real Sociedad, this makes us wonder if Ndiaye could be the man we’re looking at to replace him?

It sounds like there’s work to be done on this one (if it’s even true that is), with our alleged offer yet to match Stoke’s demands (shock horror), however it’s positive to hear he’s keen on the idea of a move to St James’ Park.

We shall see. He’s currently at the World Cup with Senegal, but this one would make sense given our past interest, Stoke’s likeliness to sell after relegation and our need for a midfielder if Merino is off.
