A new club have entered the race to sign Chancel Mbemba according to reports in Portugal, with claims that Turkish side Trabzonspor have now submitted a higher offer than Porto for the Congolese defender.
After his move to Anderlecht broke down, it was reported last week that Mbemba was ‘close’ to completing a move to Porto, however it’s since emerged that the Portuguese giants are yet to meet our asking price of £8m.
The amount Trabzonspor have offered has not been revealed, but with Porto reportedly willing to pay £6m, we can safely assume they must be offering something closer to his £8m price-tag if these reports from Portugal are true.
With sales important this summer to raise funds for Rafa, clear space in the squad and cut the wage will, it can only be a good thing that another club have come in with a slightly more acceptable offer – although the report states that Mbemba prefers a move to Porto.
Hopefully this sparks Porto into action and sees them up their offer to the £8m we’re demanding.
For me that’s a real bargain in this day and age for a player of his age and potential, so let’s hope his sale is sorted out one way or another ASAP.
