After being pictured saying ‘pre-season ready’ in a Rangers kit on his Instagram page, top Newcastle youngster Mo Sangare has played down fears that he’s off to the SPL – admitting that it was actually his brothers top and that nothing has changed at NUFC.
The highly-rated 19-year-old was one of our best performers at U-23 level in Premier League 2 last season, with Rafa Benitez actually handing the 6ft 3′ midfielder a chance to train with the first team back in March.
With this in mind, it was a slight worry to see one of our top prospects pictures in a Rangers shirt, however the man himself has since played down the rumours.
Here’s what he’s had to say today:
“The Rangers top is for my lil brother , nothing change @NUFC . Howay the lads.”

He often looked one of the best players on the pitch whenever I got a chance to see the U-23’s last season and it seems Rafa has high hopes for him too, so it’s good to hear that he’s still very much a Newcastle United player.
