According to Calciomercato, Newcastle are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Yussuf Poulsen – the RB Leipzig striker who impressed for Denmark at the World Cup.
The 24-year-old forward often played out wide for Denmark during the tournament, scoring 1 goals in 3 appearances in Russia, but tends to operate in a more central role in Germany for Leipzig.
He bagged 5 goals and 9 assists last season during their 6th place finish in the Bundesliga last season and has 5 goals in 31 appearances at international level for Denmark.
His goalscoring record is hardly prolific, but he’s highly-rated in Germany and looked a real talent each time I watched him for Denmark over the past few weeks – with Calciomercato claiming both Everton and West Ham are also interested.
He’s 6ft 3′ tall but looked to have a decent turn of pace and impressive athleticism for a player of his stature.
It remains to be seen as to whether there’s any genuine interest from Newcastle here, but if his performances at the World Cup are anything to go by, he looks a very handy player.
This guy is a beast that will only get better a young Diego Costa. Please let this be true.
