According to Lee Clayton – the Daily Mail’s Head Sports’ reporter – Newcastle will announce the signing of Kenedy on a season-long loan next week.
This would come as a welcome boost for Benitez and the news many of us have been waiting to hear all summer, however it may be a little too early to be getting carried away.
One year loan deal for Kenedy to return to Newcastle will be announced this week. He was a popular signing last season. Rafa Benitez crucial to the deal #NUFC

The Mail claim we’ve beaten the likes of RB Leipzig to his signature, although the potential ‘bad news’ is that there’s no mention of an option to buy – something which Benitez would’ve been desperate to secure.
On top of this, the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder has responded to these claims by the Mail, suggesting that any deal for Kenedy is not done and dusted just yet.
#nufc sources suggesting that no deal for Kenedy done just yet but the talks are ongoing. Close to the top of the wanted list. Maurizio Sarri appointment should see some progress on loan deal.

So, it’s maybe a little too early to be celebrating his return to Tyneside, however it does look pretty likely – even if it is just a loan deal with no option to buy.
His Chelsea contract runs out in 2020 so it seems unlikely the option to buy at a fixed price would be omitted. Once he goes into his final year of contract his value will diminish. He could then just run it down if he chose. I can’t imagine Chelsea not including an obligation to buy at his current value, let alone an option. Just a thought.

Totally agree, Chelsea handle things professionally like this, mind you they are dealing with chumpley. Option to buy for 20 Mill no i want 30 says chumpley. Penfold strikes again!!
