According to Sky Sports’ North-East correspondent Keith Downie, Newcastle United have insisted that Jamaal Lascelles is ‘not for sale’ following West Ham’s £25m bid.
He claims that their offer of £20m rising to £25m has been immediately rejected and described as ‘out of hand’, with Newcastle clearly having no intention of selling the skipper.

This has also been backed up by Pete Graves, who claims that Newcastle are ‘adamant’ that the centre-back won’t be sold this summer – despite both West Ham and Everton’s interest.
West Ham firm up interest in Jamaal Lascelles with a firm bid of up to £25m. Everton also interested. Newcastle are adamant the captain is NOT for sale. Latest on @SkySportsNewsHQ #nufc #whufc #efc

One slight concern is how this could unsettle the captain.
He’s made it quite clear that Newcastle United is the club for him right now, with him appearing to have absolutely no desire to seek a move elsewhere, however this line from Lee Ryder is a little worrying.
Unsettling stuff for Jamaal Lascelles coming from people close to his agent. Same stuff that came when he was linked with Everton and Chelsea earlier. Newcastle yet to confirm if this is a serious bid. #nufc #whufc

Are those close to his agent trying to manoeuvre a potential big money deal? Let’s hope not.
