Kenedy sends brilliant message to NUFC fans after completing move from Chelsea

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Kenedy on a season-long loan and the Brazilian has immediately thanked NUFC fans for their incredible support, admitting that he is ‘so happy’ to be back in Newcastle – the place he now calls his ‘second home’.

The 22-year-old made an immediate impact during his short-term loan deal last season and it’s been made clear ever since that Benitez was desperate to bring him back to the club this summer.

It may not be a permanent deal, with it appearing to be a straight loan with no option to buy at present, but it’s absolutely brilliant for everyone at NUFC to know that he’s now back for the entire 2018/19 season.

Here’s what he’s had to say to NUFC TV since signing today:

“I’m so happy to come back to my second home

“I am so happy to be back. When the club showed an interest in me and the call came, as the Brazilian expression goes, ‘O bom filho a case torna’ – ‘the good son will always come home’.

“It’s a club I identified with quickly. Everyone here treated so well and I feel so good.

“It feels like family, it feels like home, so that’s why I say it feels like my second home.

“I am so happy with this interest from Rafa Benítez, that he came back for me. I want to keep it going, the work that I did here before, for the new season.

“I have received many, many messages on social media from the fans. They were saying ‘come back, come back!’.

“They made me feel appreciated and I was so glad to hear that and feel the love and passion from the fans towards me.

“So I aim to come here in this new season and give everything on the pitch and keep the work going from the season before.”

Kenedy then looked ahead to the new season, admitting it’s now a ‘new beginning’ for him at Newcastle United, with him vowing to be fully focused and prepared for the ‘big games’ to come:

“I’ll give everything on the pitch and do my best. It’s a new challenge, a new season and a new opportunity and I’m so motivated to make it like last season.

“I’m focused an prepared. Now I have the opportunity to prepare properly, from the beginning, to be ready for the big games to come.

“It’s a new beginning for me at the club.”

It’s great to have him back.

A bright young talent and a brilliant lad who’ll only get better under Benitez.

Welcome back Kenedy!
