Mike Ashley found guilty of ripping off NUFC fans once again – Unbelievable

As revealed by The Mag, Mike Ashley’s Sports Direct have been found guilty of charging Newcastle United fans more for their home shirt than any other Premier League club – a shameless move from the NUFC owner.

As their piece highlights (read it in full here), the new adult home shirt will cost you £65 – and that price will rise to just under £112 if you want the full kit (with official shorts priced at £32 and socks a whopping £15).

It’s unbelievable really – but, then again, should we even be surprised?

As we’ve seen over the years, his sole focus is to make money and he doesn’t seem to care who he angers along the way as long as he’s lining his pockets.

Here’s a snippet from The Mag’s latest piece on Ashley’s extortionate NUFC kit prices at Sports Direct:

“At both Newcastle United’s online shop and at Sports Direct, the new adult home shirt is £65, that is without any name/number or anything extra. If you want to add shorts and socks, that will add £32 and £15 respectively, making it a total of £112 for the full kit (or £111.97 if you want it exactly).

“A junior (kid’s) home shirt is £50 at both SD and NUFC, which is outrageous (no VAT charged on kids’ clothes). Plus, as the vast majority of parents find out, once kids are in their teens there aren’t many who won’t need an adult shirt anyway.”

Their piece then highlights how much Ashley is charging fans for NUFC’s new kit in comparison to other Premier League clubs:

At Sports Direct (Mike Ashley), this is what they are charging for the new home shirts for the Premier League clubs:

£65 Newcastle United

£60 Liverpool

£55 Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd (new third strip), West Ham

£50 Southampton

As for other clubs, at Sports Direct you have:

£60 Juventus, Real Madrid

£55 Barcelona, PSG, AC Milan

£50 Celtic

‘The likes of Arsenal and AC Milan are both Puma shirts as well, so why is Mike Ashley charging £10 less for these?

‘Whilst you can’t imagine the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and the rest don’t drive hard bargains in terms of what they get for each extra shirt sold.

‘You have to hand it to Mike Ashley, he’s never at the back of the queue when it comes to taking money off Newcastle fans.’

This really is disgraceful and shows just how little he cares about us fans.

Good work from The Mag, who’ve done another great job here to exposed just what a crook Mike Ashley really is.

  1. Simple don’t buy it. Pretty stupid to pay that much. If no-one buys it watch the price tumble after Christmas
