Rafa Benitez releases statement on official website after Kenedy signs from Chelsea

Rafa Benitez has released a statement on his official website after confirmation of Kenedy’s return to St James’ Park today, welcoming the Brazilian back to Newcastle and admitting that ‘every single NUFC fan’ will be delighted to see him back for another season.

The fact he’s only arrived on loan (with no option to buy) is a slight frustration, but to have him back for at least another year is a huge boost for all involved – especially after he was linked with big moves to PSG and Bayern Munich just a few months ago.

Here’s what the gaffer has shared on his official website (RafaBenitez.com) since the 22-year-old’s return was confirmed:

“I’m sure every single Newcastle United FC fan will agree with me that we are really pleased to see you back.

“A few months ago I was explaining to some of our fans why we thought you were a good signing for our team, nearly two months after the end of the last season we don’t need to explain anything.

“They really enjoyed your football last season, so, just to say we wish you all the best for you this season that it will be good news for us at the same time.

“Hopefully you will be ready for the new challenge just keep working as hard as the last season and your future will be bright.

“Welcome again Keny. COME ON TOONS!!!”

Benitez also said the following on Kenedy when speaking to the club’s official website:

“I’m really pleased to have Kenedy back with us. I’m sure every fan will be happy with this signing.

“Hopefully he can keep playing at the same level that he reached with us last season. I wish him all the best for his time here.”

It’s a coup for the club, our third signing of the summer and a deal that will bring smiles back to faces of Rafa Benitez and all NUFC fans.

Now for striker or two!
