Journalist reveals the truth behind Isaac Hayden’s transfer request – Must read for NUFC fans

After news of his surprise transfer request, the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder has revealed that Isaac Hayden has asked to leave Newcastle to be closer to his partner and young daughter who are currently based in the South West.

Whilst Hayden has not been a big part of Rafa Benitez’s first-team plans over the past year, it came as quite a shock to hear that he’d handed in a transfer request this morning.

He’d always come across well and appeared to be settled on Tyneside, however it has now become more clear as to why he’s seeking a move down South.

Here’s what Lee Ryder’s had to say about the situation following news of his transfer request and Brighton’s £10m interest:

“The former Arsenal man wants to move closer to his partner and young daughter who are based in the South West with his agent Simon Kennedy currently in discussions with managing director Lee Charnley to pave the way for his exit.

“Kennedy cited ‘exceptional family reasons’ for Hayden’s exit.”

Being away from loved ones from time to time is part and parcel of life for a 21st century footballer, but Hayden is clearly unsettled and needing to be back with family.

We wish him and his family all the best and hope his situation can be sorted in a way that suits all parties out as soon as possible.
