As confirmed The Guardian’s Daniel Taylor (and now Sky Sports), Jack Colback has FINALLY completed a move away from Newcastle United – with his return to Nottingham Forest believed to have ‘gone through’ this afternoon.
It’s been confirmed only as a loan deal with an option to buy, however this will still seal his exit from the club. His contract expires next summer, so he will NOT be returning once his loan deals ends – even if Forest decide not to sign him.
Colback is a loan deal, with an option to buy. Not quite sure what's happening at Newcastle right now (usual Mike Ashley chaos) but from NFFC perspective another shrewd signing. Tenth summer arrival and very impressive business, once again.

Having underperformed for a while and more recently being banished by Benitez, it’s fair to say us NUFC fans are happy to see the back of him – however Nottingham Forest fans clearly hold him in very high regard, with many being delighted to see him return to the City Ground.
Here’s the reaction from both sets of fans on social media, starting with Forest fans:
Nottingham Forest fans:
‘Great addition. Was selfishly hoping for Vukcevic, but Colback will give the attacking quartet the freedom they require.’
‘Get in Mr Taylor , quality player’
Excellent’
‘Wonder what those who said he wasn’t that good and that they weren’t bothered about him coming are thinking? Great addition regardless of what some say’
‘Get in!’
‘Yessssssss.’
‘Great news.’
‘A very astute signing.’
‘Great bit of business. Free in summer’
Newcastle United fans:

‘Thank god! about time’
‘Hallelujah.’
“Thank god. Let’s hope a few more follow him”
“Good job done. Been awful for years and that’ll be 40k off the wage bill’
‘Great stuff… It’s a few years too late!’
‘How that bloke has been picking up 40,000 a week I’ll never know. Not our problem now though – about time!’
