Newcastle interested in Cameroon international – Report

According to L’Equipe, Newcastle are interested in a deal to sign Cameroon international defender Nicolas N’Koulou – however it sounds like we could face competition from Sevilla and West Ham.

The 28-year-old centre-back plays for Serie A side Torino, having previously spent the majority of his career in France – playing for Monaco, Marseille and Lyon.

After spending last year on loan with Torino (from Lyon), the defender only sealed a £3m move to the Italian side at the end of the 2017/18 season – however it looks like he may be on the move again this summer.

L’Equipe claim that Sevilla are currently the favourites to sign him, however they state that both ourselves and West Ham are now ‘monitoring’ his situation and could make a move.

With Mbemba’s move to Porto said to be edging closer and Rafa confirming his wish to add competition at the back, could this be a potential replacement? Perhaps, but I’m not getting my hopes up if Sevilla and West Ham’s interest is serious.

  1. Are we only chasing players that West ham are after. Every time I read we’re looking at someone it’s either us or them wanting to buy him
