Transfer talk – a round-up of today’s NUFC news & gossip – 20/07/2018

A round up of all of today’s news & transfer gossip:

  • As confirmed The Guardian’s Daniel Taylor (and now Sky Sports), Jack Colback has FINALLY completed a move away from Newcastle United – with his return to Nottingham Forest believed to have ‘gone through’ this afternoon – Full story here. 
  • A fan-led movement has emerged on social media following news of Rafa’s increasing frustrations – with ‘If Rafa Goes We Go’ now urging fans to boycott Mike Ashley’s NUFC if he forces the Spaniard out of St James’ Park next summer – Full story here.
  • Geordie duo Ant and Dec have now also got involved in the above campaign set up to force Mike Ashley out of NUFC – with the pair posting ‘If Rafa Goes We Go’ on their personal Twitter page in support of Rafa Benitez – Full story here. 
  • According to the Chronicle’s Chris Waugh, Rafa Benitez is trying to bring TWO defenders to Newcastle this summer – with the Spaniard keen to sign a new centre-back, full-back cover and ‘key striker target’ Salomon Rondon – Full story here .
  • Rafa Benitez has been offered the chance to re-sign Leicester City striker Islam Slimani according to the Chronicle this morning – an opportunity he has swiftly rejected after his struggling spell at St James’ Park last season – Full story here. 

  • According to David Coverdale, Newcastle United have Adam Armstrong that he can now leave the club – with the 21-year-old now made available for just £3m – Full story here. 
  • Rafa Benitez has made a grim admission ahead of the new season, stating that his target is now just to ‘stay up’ – suggesting that our lack of ambition and other clubs spending will make this season ‘more difficult’ than last year – Full story here. 
  • According to reports in Australia, Newcastle are now ‘moving in’ for Huddersfield midfielder Aaron Mooy – a player believed to be on Rafa Benitez’s ‘wanted list’ after impressing the Spaniard over the past few seasons – Full story here.
