According to leading French outlet L’Equipe’ , Newcastle are now one of three Premier League clubs trying to secure the signing of Guingamp playmaker Clement Grenier – with him said to be available for just €3m this summer.
The midfielder – who we actually bid for back in 2014 when trying to replace Yohan Cabaye – has struggled with injuries over the years, however enjoyed a stunning end to the 2017/18 Ligue 1 season, scoring 5 and assisting 4 in their final 10 games.
Guingamp boss Antoine Koumbare has recently confirmed he’s ‘about to leave’ the Ligue 1 club, with him believed to be available for as little as €3m (£2.65m).
According to L’Equipe, he’s not even being risked in pre-season friendlies incase it scuppers his seemingly imminent move away, with ourselves, Everton and Fulham all said to be keen to sign him.

With Benitez’s budget clearly very limited, a cut-price deal at just €3m (£2.65m) could be an attractive proposition for both himself and Mike Ashley, however with that will come competition from other clubs – and I don’t have much faith in this one if both Fulham and Everton’s interest is serious.
As The Chronicle state in their live blog today, this could well be ‘one to keep an eye on’..
if we were to sign every player that has been reported, we would have 3 team in the same league. I for one am getting sick of all the Whats or we should we have been reading about over the last few weeks.
Can someone out there give a positive like guess what WE HAVE A NEW PLAYER and let it be true.
