According to reports in France, Manuel Pellegrini is now ‘considering’ a move to bring Hatem Ben Arfa to West Ham – with the former Newcastle winger now available on a free following his release from PSG.
The 31-year-old attacker was a fan favourite at Newcastle and an unplayable talent at his best – being one of THE most exciting players I’ve seen in black and white on his day – however his career has really fizzled out since he left the club back in 2014.
Aside from a highly impressive season with Nice, he’s been loaned to Hull and been left to rot in the PSG reserves. He’s now available on a free agent after his release in June, with him failing to play a single minute of football in the 2017/18 season.
West Ham have entered the fray to sign free agent Hatem Ben Arfa.

Having already signed Yarmalenko and Felipe Anderson for a combined fee of over £55m, Ben Arfa would represent a slightly more shrewd signing for West Ham, however their attacking options really could be quite frightening going into the new season if they were to also add him to their ranks.
It’d be great to see him back at Newcastle, but a luxury player like Ben Arfa is perhaps as unlikely as any for a manager like Rafa Benitez – even if he is available on a free.

I am pretty confident Rafa wouldn’t touch Benny with a barge pole…
Too unpredictable both on and off the pitch..
