Newcastle United flop Matz Sels has sealed a permanent move away from St James’ Park in the last few moments, completing a surprise £4m move to newly promoted Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
Considering we’ve signed Dubravka for the same amount earlier this summer, this seems like VERY good business to me.
The Belgian international had looked set to complete a move to Anderlecht earlier in the summer, however it seemed as though they were unprepared to meet our demands – and it’s just as well now we’ve flogged him for £4m.
The club paid £6m to sign him from Gent two years ago, but it seems like we’ve done pretty well to get £4m for him given his lack of form and the apparent lack of interest that had been shown in him leading up to this move.
Goalkeeper Matz Sels has completed a permanent move to @RCSA. Good luck, Matz!
