NUFC flop completes £4m move to newly promoted side – A surprisingly good deal for the club

Newcastle United flop Matz Sels has sealed a permanent move away from St James’ Park in the last few moments, completing a surprise £4m move to newly promoted Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.

Considering we’ve signed Dubravka for the same amount earlier this summer, this seems like VERY good business to me.

The Belgian international had looked set to complete a move to Anderlecht earlier in the summer, however it seemed as though they were unprepared to meet our demands – and it’s just as well now we’ve flogged him for £4m.

The club paid £6m to sign him from Gent two years ago, but it seems like we’ve done pretty well to get £4m for him given his lack of form and the apparent lack of interest that had been shown in him leading up to this move.

He’s now confirmed on his personal Instagram account that he is now a Strasbourg player, posting the following in the last few moments:

Good luck to him!
