Newcastle have confirmed their fourth signing of the summer, with centre-back Fabian Schar signing an ‘initial’ three-year deal with the club after we activated his £3m release clause at Deportivo – Full story here.
Sky Sports have confirmed that we have now agreed a £9.5m fee to sign Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto – with the Japanese international said to be now on his way to Tyneside for a medical – Full story here.
Mainz have also released a statement confirming that they have now reached an agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Yoshinori Muto – confirming that only the ‘formalities’ are left to sort – Full story here.
Newcastle United flop Matz Sels has sealed a permanent move away from St James’ Park today, completing a surprise £4m move to newly promoted Ligue 1 side Strasbourg – Full story here.

After completing his move to Newcastle United, Fabian Schar has admitted that he is ‘not like a typical defender’, claiming he likes to play and start attacks from the back – also vowing to score goals with his head – See his comments here.
According to reputable North-East reporter George Caulkin, Newcastle have made contact with Bristol City over the signing of Joe Bryan – but suggests we are currently refusing to pay their £6m asking price – Full story here.
Following his post-World Cup break, Aleksandar Mitrovic is now back at Newcastle United after failing to complete a move to Fulham as of yet – and he doesn’t look too happy about it all if Sky’s latest clip of him is anything to go by – See clip here .
According to The Mirror’s Simon Bird, Rafa Benitez’s £6m buy-out clause has now expired, meaning rival clubs will NOT be able to poach him from NUFC – however the Spaniard will be forced to pay £6m if he decided to quit the club – Full story here.
