An exchange on social media between Salomon Rondon and Venezuelan friend ‘@KaBeto‘ has been shared online, showing the West Brom striker confirm that he is currently ‘moving out’ – suggesting he could be packing his bags ahead of a move to NUFC?
The striker looks set to leave West Brom this summer following their relegation and it has been confirmed over the last few weeks that we are currently in talks to bring him to St James’ Park – with him said to be Benitez’s ‘top’ striker target.
It could be nothing, but this is a legitimate conversation shared on @KaBeto’s Instagram story (the man private messaging Rondon) so it’s certainly an interesting nugget of information.
Is he packing his bags in the Midlands ahead of a move to Tyneside?
The pair’s chat (in Venezuelan Spanish) has been shared on Twitter in the last few moments and a quick Google translate shows the following:
@KaBeto – “When can we play (FIFA) man?”
@SaloRondon23 – “Marico, I’m moving out, baby! Manage the anxiety!”
See the chat below for yourself:
A venezuelan influencer friends with #Rondon posted this on his Instagram stories. He asks him “when can we play (FIFA) man?” and Rondon answers “Calm down mate, I am currently moving out”.
I think it’s pretty clear he is leaving #WBA. Is he moving out to #NUFC? pic.twitter.com/LtVc2iRw35— Francisco Flavia (@2010FlaviaFran) July 27, 2018
It’s been reported by The Chronicle this morning that Newcastle are currently in talks with the Baggies over a deal which would see Rondon and Gayle involved in a ‘swap deal’, and although that seems a messy way of doing the deal, Gayle’s absence from Tuesday’s pre-season friendly at Hull only adds more fuel to the fire.
He may just be moving houses in the Midlands, but I HIGHLY doubt this is the case given his future appears to be away from West Brom.
Could he be on his way to Newcastle United? Time will tell.

Manage the anxiety?
Is that another way of saying “Don’t worry”?
