Transfer round up – Muto medical, youngster signs, Aarons axed & Uruguayan linked – 27/07/2018

A round up of all of today’s news & transfer gossip:

  • According to The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Yoshinori Muto has now agreed terms with Newcastle United and passed his medical  – with the club now only needing confirmation of his work permit in order to announce his signing – Full story here. 
  • As confirmed by The Sun’s Tom Roddy, we have now added 18-year old talent Rosaire Longelo to our U-23 ranks – with the former West Ham wide man signing a four-year deal with the club today – Full story here. 
  • An exchange on social media between Salomon Rondon and ‘@KaBeto‘ has been shared online, showing the West Brom striker confirm that he is currently ‘moving out’ – a sign that he could be packing his bags ahead of a move to NUFC? – Full story here. 
  • Rolando Aarons has NOT been selected in Rafa Benitez’s squad that’s travelled to Portugal today – suggesting the winger’s future on Tyneside is looking bleak at best – Full story here. 
  • According to The Chronicle, Rafa Benitez is now pursuing deals for ‘at least’ another three signings – with Salomon Rondon, a new number 10 and ‘extra full-back over‘ now on his agenda after deals for Muto and Schar – Full story here. 

  • After Chancel Mbemba’s move to Porto was made official, Rafa Benitez has hinted that the 23-year old struggled to ever ‘settle down’ in England and the city of Newcastle – perhaps suggesting he did fail to learn English after all? – Full story here. 
  • Almost two weeks on from news of his transfer request, unsettled midfielder Isaac Hayden has insisted that ‘nothing has changed’ – insisting that he is desperate to secure a move back down south to be closer to his family – Full story here. 
  • According to reports in South America, Newcastle are now working on a deal to sign Boca Juniors star Nahitan Nandez – however it’s claimed by that the club are not currently prepared to meet his release clause – Full story here.
  • Less than 48 hours into life at Porto, Chancel Mbemba is already on crutches and in a wheelchair – with him sustaining  an injury to his left knee during a friendly with Farnese on Wednesday morning (his first game for the club) – Full story here.
  • Speaking to the Japanese media prior to his flight from Tokyo this morning, soon-to-be Newcastle United striker Yoshinori Muto has admitted that he is aiming to score at least ’10 goals’ in his debut season in England – Full story here.
