As ever when we see a new signing arrive at St James’ Park, Newcastle United fan @jbxnufc has put together a brilliant compilation of NUFC new boys Yoshinori Muto and Fabian Schar.
It goes without saying that even the worst of players could be made to look half decent when you compile all their best bits into a two-minute video, however it’s always nice to see what sort of player we could be getting our hands on.
To save you a bit of ‘Youtube scouting’, here’s clips of both in action – starting with some of Muto’s best bits from his three years in the Bundesliga with Mainz:

He strikes me as a bit of a pest and a quick thinker, with it seeming as though he has a knack of getting himself in the right place at the right time. (To find out more about him, see our chat with GOAL’s Bundesliga expert Ronan Murphy here)
Now to the clip of Fabian Schar and, based on this, you can see why the Swiss centre-back is known for his ability on the ball:

He looks pretty aggressive and has one hell of a right foot on him – although there’s only so much we can take from a two-minute highlight reel.
Do you think these two will prove to be good signing for NUFC?
A big welcome to both players. Muto appears to have lightning reactions which will stand him in good stead in the PL. Be interesting to see how we set up this season.
Schar is more Lejeune than Lascelles, with that wicked range of passing.
Cost means nothing. Sissoko is a £30m player remember? Their worth is in how Rafa can utilise them.

THey both look pretty good but that’s why they’re called highlights.
Muto looks sharper than anything we’ve got at the moment, but having said that we’ve no idea when those clips were.
All said – he reminds me of how Cole used to be in the box, always having a go and always on the end of everything.

Brrrian. Go on then, I’ll take the second coming of Cole mate. ? We did create a lot of chances last season that were missed – badly. Maybe this lad can put them away? Rafa must have some plan to play both him and Rondon together I think, let’s hope they compliment each other. Muto just behind Rondon perhaps? In Rafa we trust.
