Shock exclusive claims Belgium international will join NUFC – with Atsu joining rivals as a result

According to a shock exclusive from Ghanasoccernet.com, Newcastle could let Christian Atsu to leave after interest from Huddersfield – with them claiming that he’s all set to be replaced following the ‘imminent arrival’ of Belgium winger Athony Limbombe.

This one comes almost totally out the blue, but these are some pretty big claims – with the report stating that the highly-rated Club Brugge star is all set to sign for Newcastle United.

They also suggest that this will pave the way for Atsu’s potential move to Huddersfield, claiming that David Wagner is a ‘huge admirer’ of the Ghanaian winger.

Here’s a snippet from this surprise exclusive from Ghanasoccernet.com – the leading outlet for all things football in Ghana:

Huddersfield Town have identified Newcastle United wideman Christian Atsu as a potential summer signing, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively report.

United are considering an offer for the talented Ghanaian, whose future at St James’ Park is unclear following the imminent arrival of Belgium international Anthony  Limbombe.

It’s been reported that the Magpies are pondering over shipping out the Ghanaian to make way for the Belgian who scored six goals and provided seven assists for Club Brugge last season.

Huddersfield Town manager David Wagner is believed to be a huge admirer of the African star and will swoop for his services in the ongoing transfer window.

The 26-year-old still has two years remaining on his contract at Newcastle, but coach David Wagner is keen to add him to his roaster after signing Ramadan Sobhi from Stoke.

Limbombe has been tentatively linked to Newcastle on the odd occasion this summer, however he’s not a player who’s talked about as a genuine target.

With that in mind, could this be a deal we’ve done under the radar? We’ve seen it before this summer with Schar and Ki..

The Belgian recently earned a call-up to Roberto Martinez’s Belgian squad and he is a player who’s been impressing for Club Brugge over the last season, with the 24-year old scoring 6 and assisting 7 over the 2017/18 campaign.

Would you be happy to sign him if it saw Atsu go to Huddersfield in return?

  1. Most likely an unreliable report. Note the words “considering”, “pondering” and “believed”.
Speculative journalism at it’s finest lol.

True, but the fact they reckon Limbombe’s arrival is ‘imminent’ is pretty strong!

As you say, pinch of salt alert! Just quite a big claim to make I thought!

  3. Apparently this classy guy can catch pigeons with a speed rating nearly as good as Yedlin.
We need change in this squad and it would be welcomed.

Agree it’s a pretty big claim, but we’ve heard plenty of stories of imminent arrivals this summer.
I do agree it would be great if this one has a bit more substance than the usual clickbait.

  5. With all these rumours if believable most of Rafa’s signings are planned to be leaving us before season starts. The latest being Ritchie, Gayle, now Atsu?

  6. Potentially more productive than Atsu, and we need more goals from midfield so for me this one could be a good move if it is indeed a genuine one.
