NUFC linked with shock move to re-sign former defender - Report
According to Spanish outlet 'MARCA', Newcastle are now interesting in bringing former full-back Kevin Mbabu back to the club - just a year on from letting him go.
The story claims that we are now one of several clubs who are now considering a move for the Swiss defender, with Heliopolis, Valencia, Real Sociedad, Girona and Fulham all said to be keen.
The 23-year old showed real promise on the odd occasion he was given a chance at Newcastle, however he allowed to return to his homeland 12 months ago, joining BSC Young Boys on a permanent deal following an impressive spell on loan in 2016/17.
To say he's impressed since making that move is an understatement. He's helped Young Boys to their first league title in over 30 years last season and almost earned a call-up to Switzerland’s World Cup squad as a result, racking up 2 goals and 8 assists during their outstanding 2017/18 season.

It seems highly unlikely to me that Mike Ashley and co could swallow their pride and go back in for a player they sold on the cheap just 12 months ago, but Benitez does need full-back cover - and Mbabu can operate down both flanks.
Would you take him back?
