Benitez identifies the man he wants in ‘quickly’ after Rondon – £9m price – Player ‘open’ to move

According to The Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, Rafa Benitez now wants to move ‘quickly’ to complete the signing of PSG left-back Stanley N’Soki once a deal for Salomon Rondon is confirmed.

The Venezuelan is expected to sign over the next 24 hours, having completed his medical yesterday, and it seems as though Rafa is now wanting progress on the left-back front – with us having just over three days left to do business.

N’Soki is one of PSG’s most highly-rated young talents – having bagged two assists and the man of the match award in their French Super Cup win over Monaco on Saturday – however The Chronicle claim he is ‘open’ to a move to the Premier League.

The story insists that no fee has been agreed as of yet, with Newcastle hoping to pay in instalments after being quoted a fee of £9m for the 19-year old.

Here’s a snippet from Lee Ryder’s piece:

‘Rafa Benitez wants to quickly move on to completing the signing of Stanley N’Soki once Salomón Rondón is through the door at Newcastle United.

‘The 19-year-old Paris St-Germain left-back is open to a move to the Premier League but the fee is yet to be agreed.

‘PSG originally wanted £9million but Newcastle have told the French giants they will have to pay in instalments and a final figure is yet to be thrashed out between the two clubs.

‘Benitez is keen to bring in cover for Paul Dummett as he looks for a specialist left-footer to add to his defensive ranks.’

With just over 72 hours left to do business and a left-back, a centre-back and a number 10 still wanted (in addition to Rondon’s imminent arrival), there’s not long left.

Time to pick up the pace Charnley – £9m could be a snip for a player of N’Soki’s potential.

  1. We really need PL proven players or at least someone who is an experienced footballer. Future prospects are a luxury especially when Ashley is not backing the club. However it seems that Ashley likes the idea of buying players that could be sold on for a profit if they excel in the PL.
