Bad news for Benitez – ‘Top target’ performs surprise U-turn ahead of proposed move to NUFC

Despite rejecting ‘several’ professional contract offers from PSG and being ‘open’ to a move to the Premier League, it’s emerged from France in the last few moments that left-back target Stanley N’Soki has now rejected an offer from Newcastle United.

This comes from an exclusive from GFFN (Get French Football News), claiming that the 19-year old feels it is too early in his career to make the big move to England after playing just two competitive games at senior level for PSG thus far.

The Chronicle confirmed that N’Soki was a ‘top target’ of Benitez’s earlier today, however it seems that he’s now ready to stay in France and pursue a Premier League move ‘in the future’ – even though he has rejected several contract offers from PSG.

Here’s a snippet from GFFN’s latest piece, confirming the latest transfer blow for Benitez:

PSG starlet Stanley N’Soki has turned down an offer from Newcastle United, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News.

It is our understanding that N’Soki has rebuffed the bid because he does not want to move to the Premier League this early in his career. Although he would like to move to the Premier League in the future, he wants to do so once he has acquired more experience and is more mature as a player.

In terms of his contract situation with PSG, talks are scheduled for before the end of August, with his youth deal running for just 12 months more.

Sources close to N’Soki tell Get French Football News that “nothing is yet written for the future” of the player.

With just under 48 hours to go and a left-back still needed, Benitez now faces a race against time to secure a new left-back.

Could deals for Btistol City’s Joey Bryan or Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico be revisited?

Let’s hope so, as it looks like N’Soki is set for a new deal at PSG and not a move to Tyneside after all..

  1. We’re forever optimists at this stage of a transfer window, but I feel that Ashley has no intention of sanctioning any more signings this summer. I hope I’m wrong though…
