Rafa Benitez’s ‘top target’ now keen on a move to NUFC – Report

According to The Chronicle, Rafa Benitez has ‘prioritised defensive reinforcements’ with just 48 hours of the window remaining – with ‘top target’ Stanley N’Soki now said to be ‘open’ to a move to Newcastle after rejecting several contract offers at PSG.

It is insisted that a fee is yet to be agreed, however this is a promising development on this deal – with Chris Waugh stating that we are still in talks with PSG over a deal to sign the highly-rated Frenchman.

Given how much he impressed over the weekend, bagging two assists and the man of the match award during PSG’s French Super Cup win over Monaco, it’s positive to hear that a deal could still be on the cards.

Here’s a snippet from The Chronicle’s latest transfer piece, confirming

“Paris Saint-Germain left-back Stanley N’Soki is Benitez’s top target but, though discussions remain on going, a fee is yet to be agreed for the £9million-rated Frenchman.

“The 19-year-old is believed to be open to moving to the Premier League with Newcastle, and has turned down a number of professional contract offers from PSG seemingly due to his desire to secure first-team football elsewhere.”

The piece also states that Benitez is working ‘tirelessly’ to bring in defensive reinforcements, with a left-back AND a centre-back his top priorities with just two days of the window left to run.

It’s reported that ‘number 10 and forward’ is also wanted by Benitez in an ideal world, however it seems he’ll be focusing all his attentions on N’Soki and a new centre-back (to cover for Florian Lejeune) before all else.
