NUFC make ‘last-gasp’ move to sign left-back on loan – Report

According to French outlet Le 10 Sport, Newcastle have made a ‘last-gasp’ approach to sign AS Monaco left-back Jorge – however they claim that the situation is ‘very complicated’.

Here’s a snippet from GFFN’s piece on our move fro the Monaco defender, claiming we are only able to sign the Brazilian on loan – leading to a ‘very complicated’ situation between the two clubs:

“Our colleagues at Le 10 Sport understand that AS Monaco have received contact from Newcastle United for Brazilian left-back Jorge, who the Principality side are hoping to offload.

“The situation seems very complicated, Newcastle would only be able to do the deal as a loan.”

The 22-year old has been capped once by the Brazilian national side and has 2 goals and 4 assists in 32 appearances for Ligue 1 side Monaco.

With Fernandez set to sign at centre-back, is this a left-back option Benitez is now pursuing with just two and a half hours left to do business?
