Newcastle United trio Rolando Aarons, Henri Saivet and Achraf Lazaar have all failed to be given squad numbers for the 2018/19 season – with all three now very likely to leave the club before the end of the month as a result.
The deadline for bringing players in may have expired at 5pm last Thursday (August 9th), however we are still able to sell or loan players out up until August 31st.
With all three failing to gain squad numbers, it seems quite clear that Benitez has already made his mind up – although Achraf Lazaar *might* just be reintegrated with the group given our failure to land a much needed left-back on deadline day (Paul Dummett the ONLY left-back in our current squad).
The likelihood is that all three leave by the end of the month, however.
Saivet is closing in on a return to Turkey with Bursaspor, but you’d think Aarons and Lazaar will join him out the exit door if a suitable offer arrives.
More money for Mike and not far off £100,000 per week off the wage bill, but it may be a wise move for all parties if these are all moved on in the next few weeks.
