During his letter response to the recent parliamentary investigation into his inadequate running of Newcastle United, Mike Ashley constructed another lie, this time around our training ground facilities and how they are “fit for purpose”.
He is using the miracles Rafa is producing on the field with a limited budget and playing staff to justify not investing further into the infrastructure of the club.
Photos emerged this week of these facilities and it makes a mockery of Ashley’s claims, take a look….

"Our training facilities have improved significantly during my tenure. They are fit for purpose" – Mike Ashley.

Yes some of these pictures are old, but Ashley has NOT made improvements since they were taken – that’s the point here.
Just quite how players using bins as ice baths is acceptable when £120m is generated by TV money EVERY YEAR is beyond me and I imagine, most Newcastle fans.
Of course footballers do have an easier ‘job’ than most but when compare these facilities to other Premier League sides, you can see how it would drive players away or count against us when competing for new players in the transfer market.
Here are some samples of other teams facilities, for a comparison…

This is another clear from our owner and yet more evidence of the club not just stagnating but clearly falling behind during his tenure. We need investment off the field as well as on it and if Ashley isn’t willing to do it, it is about time we drove him out in favour of someone who will.
