The Magpie Group have urged Newcastle fans to ‘keep the pressure on’ Mike Ashley – with them having ‘no reason to believe’ claims today that the NUFC owner has reduced his asking price to £300m.
The group have led recent protests outside St James’ Park and Northumberland Street’s Sports Direct and, although some fans feel today’s ‘news’ indicates that Ashley may have finally buckled, The Magpie Group have insisted that we must continue to tighten the screw.
Here’a what they’ve said on Twitter today after the Shields Gazette’s story claiming that Ashley has now reduced his asking price to around £300m to secure a quick sale.
We hope Ashley is considering accepting a realistic price for the club but at this stage have no reason to believe these stories given his previous attempts to "sell" the club. Keep the pressure on.#AshleyOut #UnitedAgainstAshley

The same message has been sent out by fellow NUFC group ‘If Rafa Goes We Go“, suggesting that today’s news is nothing we haven’t seen before by Ashley, inviting fans to put even more pressure on to build on the protests so far:
“Ashley is prepared to lower his asking price for Newcastle United – as fans step up their protests against him”.
Been here before?
Believe this?
Our view?
Let’s put more pressure on and build on the protests so far. #NUFC #UnitedAgainstAshley https://t.co/nf4Uyy8ea3

Sorry Guys, but do you really think he gives a rats **** for a protest that gets no publicity, or credibility outside Newcastle.
Like John Hall before him, Ashley will sell when he is ready, and to who he likes, and whether we like it or not this is his club which he paid for in full.
What I do know is all the negativity towards the club from the city has infected the terraces and we are in danger of being relegated again.
Maybe the Magpie group should put their efforts into finding a credible buyer for NUFC, rather than attempting to make the whole thing toxic…Again!

You don’t agree that the Magpie group should put their efforts into finding a credible buyer for NUFC?

I think Ashley carry on during the PCP talks has done no favours what so ever. His already awful reputation looks even worse now to Interested buyers you can be sure staveley or her people have told people in private about his tactics, what stipulations he has and that he is off his head, no wonder buyers are running for the hills. He is like the most dodgy car salesman you could ever meet god only knows the problems lurking in the background a new owner would face.
