Leicester City winger Demarai Gray has suffered a suspected broken leg during their Carabao Cup clash with Wolves last night – meaning he will almost certainly miss Saturday’s game at St James’ Park.
Gray recently earned his first call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad after impressing for the Foxes in the early stages of the new season, featuring in all of their league games so far this season and scoring in their most recent away win at Southampton.
This isn’t ‘good news’, with it never being nice to see such a talented young player suffer such a serious injury, but this – coupled with the fact Leicester have played in midweek – may only serve to boost our chances of that all important win on Saturday.
Gray’s pace and directness caused us problems in the same fixture last season, so his absence will do our chances no harm.
That Demarai Gray injury looked bad ?#wwfc #lcfc pic.twitter.com/mtQijh7Awv

Let’s hope this injury isn’t as bad as first feared and that he makes a full recovery if it is in fact a serious one.
Demarai Gray has picked up a terrible injury. His left foot got caught under his body as he made a challenge. In a lot of pain and is about to be stretchered off. Looks like a broken leg. #LCFC
