Newcastle in ‘position’ to sign Bilal Brahimi – Report

According to reports in France, Newcastle are in ‘position’ to make a move for highly rated Middlesbrough winger Bilal Brahimi – the French talent Benitez appears to want signed up to our U-23’s.

The 18-year old winger has been impressing at youth level on Teeside and recently made his first senior appearance from the bench in their 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Rochdale.

Tony Pulis is in danger of losing him, however, with the Frenchman yet to sign a professional deal.

Foot Mercato reported back in June that Everton, Liverpool, Real Betis and Valencia were ‘following his progression’, however they now claim that ourselves, Rennes and RB Leipzig could make a move for the youngster in the coming weeks.

With one of Benitez’s many missions being to improve our U-23 set up, it does seem like Brahimi is a player we’ve been tracking – with us having been credited with interest in the curly-haired winger on several occasions over the last few months.

One to watch..
