Worrying pictures have emerged from the Newcastle United training ground, with Salomon Rondon absent from yesterday’s sessions – suggesting he is a serious doubt for Saturday’s game with Leicester after coming off injured last weekend.
To add fuel to the fire, the Venezuelan was spotted boarding a flight to Amsterdam on Tuesday. With us being in the middle of a game week, you can only presume he’s flying out to receive treatment?
Saloman Rondon is on my flight to Amsterdam this afternoon. Off somewhere for injury treatment or just heading to the Dam for a space cake and a wander down the red light district? #NUFC

Rafa confirmed after Saturday’s draw with Palace that he was withdrawn after feeling ‘tightness’ in his quad, with him being unable to continue after looking visibly debilitated in what was a sluggish first half performance from the striker.
As shown via the link below, Rondon is nowhere to be seen in the training pictures released yesterday afternoon – suggesting he was not fit enough to take part after playing with an injury during last weekend’s first half at Crystal Palace:

So, unless the West Brom loanee makes a swift return and miraculous recovery, it looks like it might be Joselu leading the line once against on Saturday.
