After holding an open meeting at the Newcastle Labour Club on Wednesday night, The Magpie Group have released 11 protest ideas which could be implemented between now and the end of the season – asking NUFC fans to rank them in order of preference.
The meeting was attended by local Labour MP’s Chi Onwurah and Ian Mearns, with fans being given the chance to share their ideas and discuss the future of Newcastle United following recent protests against Mike Ashley.
As revealed by NUFC protest group @IfRafaGoesWeGo, the audience were asked to rank the following 11 protest ideas in order of preference:
- Mass march to match followed by 5 minute protest in the Milburn atrium area
- Stickers all over town
- Political pressure expanded
- Boycott of a game
- Protests inside the stadium (walk-ins, walk-outs, sit-ins, visual display)
- Boycott after January – continue protests outside stadium with banners inside for the meantime
- Fundraise to ensure sustainability and expand
- Throwing protest objects on the pitch for a specified game
- Protesting at away games
- Cover up all Sports Direct advertising in the ground during a televised match

11 is the best. It has no affect on the team and has maximum affect on Ashley, and while it remains legal, it can’t be stopped. There are many ways to disrupt the running of a shop while remaining legal.
Another aspect of this type of protest is the utilising of supporters of other clubs. Let the football supporters of the land stand up against the unscrupulous rich buying up community assets.

Boycott the next home game thats live on $ky.
Direct Action and sacrifice is required. An empty ground pictured around the wirld would look astonishing.
The time to do something is NOW. If we do nothing, nothing will change.

I’m with you mick sky will have to suffer the raft of nufc fans. They have been endlessly backing Ashley up you’ll soon see a swift change when they televise a live PL game with an empty stadium. Look at how west ham have improved since the chaos of last season protest’s in the london stadium. The owners saw first hand the fury of fans and they needed to do more which they reluctantly did and the team is thriving because of the actions of the fans.
