He may not be a name many of us Newcastle fans are familiar with, but 19 -ear-old striker Elias Sorensen is making a name for himself in our U-23 set up.
The Danish U-19 international has started just 7 games for the second string so far this season, however he has bagged an outstanding EIGHT goal already – scoring a hat-trick in the U-23’s demolition of Fulham on Monday night.
Not only that, he then got on the scoresheet once again last night, scoring in the club’s Premier League Cup victory over Notts County – a game Rafa Benitez and Jonjo Shelvey attended which included this stunning solo goal from Callum Roberts; another top talent in our reserves:

With 8 goals so far this season, many have called for Benitez to give Sorensen a chance at senior level. It seems very unlikely, but you can see why when he’s scored more goals alone than our current crop of strikers have managed between them this season.
A totally different level of football at U-23, yes, but he’s definitely one to watch.
Achraf Lazaar also deserves a mention. It’s been reported today that he’s asked to play for the reserves in a bid to prove himself to Rafa Benitez and fight for his place – and he’s not done badly at all, bagging three assists from out wide in a game and a half.
Back to Sorensen – here’s his stunning long range strike from this time last year:
