Good news – Benitez now ‘hopeful’ that this NUFC player will be fit to face Brighton

According to The Chronicle, Rafa Benitez is now ‘hopeful’ that Kenedy will be fit to face Brighton on Saturday after limping off during the recent defeat to Manchester United.

The gaffer confirmed after the game that both he and Muto were forced off at Old Trafford with injuries, and while there’s been no update on the striker’s fitness, it’s reported today that Kenedy should be ok.

He’s believed to have picked up an ankle injury, having been forced off in the 68th minute at Man Utd (at a stage where we were 2-0 up!), so it will be a real boost for Benitez if he makes Saturday’s crucial game with Brighton.

The Brazilian has generally struggled this season, but there were signs of the old Kenedy at Old Trafford, with him taking his goal brilliantly and his all round performance being much improved.

Let’s hope he, Dummett, Muto and Rondon can all be fit in time for what promises to be our most important game so far this season.
