Nile Ranger makes unbelievable claim about Andy Carroll – I find this hard to believe..

Nile Ranger has branded former NUFC teammate Andy Carroll a ‘lunatic’ – claiming that 29-year-old striker was ‘worse’ than him for going out and partying during their time together on Tyneside.

This comes from the True Geordies recent in-depth interview with Ranger, with him claiming that Carroll was as wild off the pitch as he was on it – although he does insist that he is a ‘good guy in general’.

Here’s what Ranger had to say about the former NUFC striker when speaking on the True Geordie’s latest podcast:

“Andy’s a lunatic but he gets the job done,”

“I think he’s worse than me (for partying) but he’s a good bloke, though. He’s got banter and he’s a good guy in general.

“He was going through a lot, like getting his car blown up in Newcastle, but he still bombed on and got his move to Liverpool after Kevin Nolan took him under his wing and said ‘I’m going to look after you’.

“I don’t know what he’s doing now – probably just living life. I heard some rumours, that he snuck out and hurt his leg; knowing Andy the way he is, that definitely sounds like him!”

He may have been a bit of a party animal, but I struggle to believe he was ‘worse’ than Ranger!

That being said, it’s still hard to believe we fetched £35m for him really.

He may have been unplayable on his day, so dominant in the air and an old-fashioned number 9 who was absolutely brilliant to watch for a spell at St James’ Park, but injuries really have got in the way.

A quick Google search tells me he’s currently out injured, with him still to kick a ball in the 2018/19 season – and that sums him up unfortunately.
