NUFC duo ruled out of tomorrow’s game with Brighton- One set to return – Confirmed by Benitez

Speaking to the press ahead tomorrow’s crucial clash with Brighton, Rafa Benitez has confirmed that the game will come too soon for Salomon Rondon – with Ciaran Clark also ruled out through injury.

On the plus side, the Spaniard says that Paul Dummett is now training normally and ‘should be OK’ to return to the side.

After coming off with a thigh complaint away to Palace last month, Rondon has missed our last three games through injury, so it’s a real shame that he’ll miss out again.

As for Clark, he missed Ireland’s UEFA Nations League clash with Wales this week, but it’s fair to say he won’t be missed while Fernandez and Lascelles are fit.

Here’s what Rafa’s just had to say:

“Rondon has been doing part of the training sessions but is not available. Clark will have some treatment but he is out.

“Dummett is training normally so he should be OK”

I’d have expected Muto to start regardless of Rondon’s availability, but it’s a shame we now won’t see him come off from the bench late on.

Tomorrow’s game really is huge. Let’s hope we can build on the promising signs shown at Man Utd and get that all important three points.
