If scoring 8 goals in his first 10 games wasn’t enough, Danish striker Elias Sorensen has only gone an scored a hat-trick (his second this month!) in the U-23’s 5-2 victory over Aston Villa on Monday night – with many now tipping him for a first-team call up.
This now takes his tally up to 11 goals in 11 games so far – making him the top scorer in Premier League 2 – with impressive youngsters Cal Roberts and Sean Longstaff also getting on the scoresheet to give the second string their fourth straight win.

Considering our struggles in front of goal this season, there’s been several calls to give some of our promising young attackers a chance at first-team level – and those calls will only intensify after this.
He may be excelling at a totally different level in the U-23’s, but his form can not be ignored – especially when we are absolutely desperate for goals at senior level.
He’s not the only one who I’d be tempted to hand a chance to either, with the likes of Callum Roberts and Sean Longstaff also looking very impressive and capable of making the step up when I’ve seen them play recently.
It’d be a bold move from Benitez and arguably a bit of a risk at this early stage of their careers, but I don’t think they’d do any worse than Atsu, Joselu and Perez if recent showings are anything to go by.
This lad has just completed his hat-trick for the under-23s.
Is it time for Elias Sorensen to get a chance for #nufc first XI?https://t.co/7BBJNLk2i4
