NUFC linked with January move to sign Belgian attacker – and he’s in incredible form..

According to Sportslens, Newcastle could be set to make a January move for in-form Belgian winger Leandro Trossard.

The 23-year-old has been tipped to become the next big thing to come out of Belgium, and you can see why when you look at his start to the new season.

In just 17 games, the winger has bagged an incredible 15 goals and 4 assists from the left wing – scoring 8 in the league, 5 in Europa League qualifiers and 2 in 2 games in the Europa League group stages so far.

The report states that we could be set to face competition from Southampton. No price is mentioned, however you’d think the Belgian league is somewhere we could be forced to look at to get potential value deals in January – with us looking here in the past for the likes of Mbemba, Mitrovic and Sels.

It’s been suggested recently that Rafa is likely to be given a modest budget once again, so he may just fit the profile of the type of player we’ll be looking at?

  1. Not going to happen, no money available. Also by the time he gets up to speed in the PL we will be anchored to the bottom of the table. I may miss watching the Toon next season as no network in the US are showing championship football at this time.
