As confirmed by Sean Dyche, Burnley star James Tarkowski and club-record signing Ben Gibson will BOTH miss Monday’s game at Turf Moor through injury – news that will be music to the ears of Newcastle’s Salomon Rondon.
This will leave the Clarets short at centre-half, with Ben Mee now expected to partner Irish defender Kevin Long at the back next Monday.
On the flip side, we have a few problems of our own with Lascelles, Shelvey and Dummett ALL absent from first-team training on Thursday morning – however it’s good news to hear they are without arguably their best player in James Tarkowski.

If Salomon Rondon can produce the sort of form that saw him score two goals and dominate Bournemouth’s defence two weeks ago, Mee and Long could be in for a long night.
With Burnley without a win in their last five and us coming into this after back-to-back wins, let’s hope we can come out on top in what promises to be a big game for both in front of the Sky cameras next week.
