Good & bad news emerges from NUFC’s training ground – 5 injured players return, but 1 still out

Some good and bad news has emerged from the latest training pictures released by the club today, showing Lascelles, Shelvey, Lejeune, Muto and Darlow back in training – however Paul Dummett was nowhere to be seen.

The left-back missed out Monday’s trip to Burnley, with his absence from training today suggesting that he’s also unlikely to feature against West Ham on Saturday.

As far as the others are concerned, it’s very good news. Shelvey and Lascelles were pictured taking part in the session today after both failing to play any part at Burnley, whilst Muto and Darlow were also back involved after missing out on Monday’s match day squad through injury.

Not only that, it was great to see Florian Lejeune taking part in the session, with him clearly back in full training now after months of rehabilitation following his knee ligament injury back in pre-season.

He will take a while to regain his match fitness and will not be rushed back, however he’ll have a fight on his hands to get back into the team at present, with Fernandez, Lascelles, Schar and Clark all showing Rafa what they’re capable of in recent weeks.

He’s not the only one who may struggle to get back into the side either, with Lascelles, Shelvey and Muto unlikely to return to the starting 11 any time soon if Schar, Ki and Rondon continue to perform.
