A potentially tricky tie awaits us, but it could have been a lot worse for us, with Newcastle drawn to face Blackburn Rovers at home in the FA Cup third round.
No date has been set as of yet, but the game will be played in early January.
Rafa has not got us past the fourth round in his two attempts, and although our main target is to be comfortable in the Premier League, a good cup run wouldn’t go amiss.

Blackburn are doing OK in the championship without setting the world alight. They’ve got some decent players – with the stand out being goalscoring midfielder Bradley Dack – whilst the game will also see Adam Armstrong make a return to St James Park. He will be looking to prove a point.
Our last two games against Blackburn in the Championship were defeats, so hopefully we can get our own back. That said, we will go into the game as favourites and would expect to make the next round.
