NUFC reporter shares takeover update as ‘wealthy’ party are confirmed to be in ‘advanced talks’

According to the Telegraph’s North-East reporter Luke Edwards, a ‘wealthy’ party signed a non-disclosure agreement last month, with them being financially capable of meeting Mike Ashley’s asking price ‘without complications’.

Edwards has since admitted on his own personal Twitter account that he knew ‘advanced takeover talks’ had been underway for a few weeks now, however he was initially reluctant to share given he’d ‘heard it all before’.

It could yet be another red herring, however he insists that talks have now been ‘progressing well’ – with this all fitting in with what Ashley has said today during his revealing interview with Sky news.

Here’s a snippet from his piece in the Telegraph on Monday night:

“Telegraph Sport understands that non-disclosure agreements were signed last month and the interested party is wealthy enough to do the deal without complications in terms of the asking price”.

All we can do at this stage is keep everything crossed – although don’t use this ‘positive news’ as a reason to not boycott Wolves if you were going to.

Nothing is done yet and we’ve seen how things panned out this time last year, so we must keep the pressure on!

  1. Nufc11:
Coincidence that this B.S. comes out now with a planned protest next week, pull the other one Mike.

Yep, Ashley is obviously terrified of the huge sway currently held by the Magpies Group.

Following the entire crowds 11th minute walk in at the weekend – I honestly thought I’d turned up on the wrong day – the self made billionaire must be shaking in his boots, even going to the trouble of flying to the United States a couple of weeks ago, just to bolster his false claims that the club is up for sale, and then an interview Sky.

After all, entrepreneur magnates have nothing better to do with their time than pander to a handful of deluded fans with access to the internet.

Aye lads – you’ve got him on the run.

  2. He has proved time and time again he is an utter LIAR strange how this announcement comes just before the planned boycott of the Wolves game.. And just in time for the half season tickets going on sale.. And just in time for the January Window … Oh sorry I didnt invest in the Window because I thought the takeover would be done and dusted, but unfortuneately the takeover talks have come to nothing those people who wanted to buy the Club just wasted my time .. FAT FAT FAT FAT COCKNEY B*****D get out now…
