Benitez responds to Mike Ashley comments & takeover talk – & confirms 4 out of Everton game

Rafa Benitez has admitted that talk of a takeover is a distraction at such a crucial stage of the season, saying it is ‘business as usual’ in response to Mike Ashley’s comments.

Rafa also confirmed that Dummett, Darlow and Isaac Hayden will miss tomorrow’s game at Goodison Park (as well at Matt Ritchie who is suspended), with him calling for his team to concentrate as we have ‘been here before’ as far as takeover talk is concerned.

Heres’ what he’s said in the last few moments when asked if the takeover talk was an unwanted distraction for him and the team:

“Yeah. We have been here before but we must concentrate.”

“It’s business as usual.”

“All I have done is prepare the players for the game. We have been working on January, we will continue working on the same ideas, keep looking at the targets & get ready for January 1. I have no other answers on that”

Away from talk of takeovers, Rafa has also confirmed that Dummett, Darlow and Hayden will miss tomorrow’s trip to Everton – also admitting that there are a few players who he must ‘make a decision on’ after picking up knocks against West Ham:

“Dummett is getting better but is not available. Darlow & Hayden are not available, either.

“We have to make a decision on a few who have had knocks too for Everton”

Let’s hope we can get good news both on and off the pitch in the next few days and weeks.
