Ex-Mag scores two stunning late goals to send new club into the FA Cup 4th round – Watch here

Remember Shane Ferguson – the diminutive Northern Irish winger who broke onto the scene at St James’ Park in 2010? Well he’s just scored two late stunners to send Millwall into the FA Cup 4th round.

Believe it or not, Ferguson is now 27, having played for Millwall ever since sealing a permanent move away from Newcastle in January 2016.

Since then he’s only managed a handful of goals for The Lions, but he pulled a few brilliant long-range strikes out of the bag on Sunday – coming off from the bench to score these two goals in the 82nd and 85th minute to dump Hull out of the Cup:

Some brilliant strikes from a player who had real promise when he first broke onto the scene all those years ago.

That said, I was shocked to read that he only left three years ago, with his 2016 exit meaning he was 24 when he left. There was me thinking he left as a real youngster who just didn’t quite cut it.

The same can be said about the likes of Jamie Sterry. He started on Saturday and is easily seen as a young player pushing to breakthrough from reserve level, yet he turns 24 this year!
